Tehran announced that it had completed the agreement on the purchase of Su-35 fighter jets from Russia.
This was reported by the Iranian state news agency IRNA.
The information was shared by the Iranian representation at the UN, which stated that Tehran has completed the signing of the contract for the purchase of Su-35 aircraft from Russia.
The representative office clarified that after the end of the Iran-Iraq war in 1988, Tehran asked a number of countries to study the possibility of selling fighter jets, and Russia agreed to sell them.
The Iranian mission added that the Su-35 fighters were technically approved by Tehran. The representative office does not disclose when and how many fighters will be delivered from the Russian Federation to Iran.
"The details were not disclosed, as the information is classified," the mission said.
