Azerbaijan announced the arrest of another group of alleged ‘Iranian spies’. According to the information of the Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies, as a result of the special operational measures, 32 people were identified and detained in Azerbaijan, who, according to the agency, “engaged in subversive activities under the guise of religion.”
It is mentioned that the arrested citizens allegedly carried out propaganda in favor of Iran through social networks, in places of worship, during other ceremonies, and performed various tasks.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first case of the revealing of the alleged Iranian espionage network. By an interesting coincidence, such arrests coincide with the increase in tension in Iran-Azerbaijan relations.
