The opposition is again holding a rally in front of the Georgian Parliament.
This time it is related to the new defense code of Georgia, on which the Parliament is holding hearings.
According to the new code, it was assumed that from 2025 military conscription could become mandatory for students. Now the Ministry of Defense has announced that the conscription will apply to students only on a voluntary basis, and they will be able to choose acceptable conditions from three options.
Protesters called military service obsolete, ineffective and financially costly.
