The protest, organized in front of the Parliament of Georgia, ended. No arrests have been made. The stage and equipment installed near the legislative body building are being dismantled, protesters are leaving the area after the Parliament officially withdrew the bill, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
According to the organizers of the action, it is thanks to their actions and struggle that the parliament rejected the draft law "On transparency of foreign influence" in the second reading. However, they emphasize that now they will continue to fight for the implementation of 12 points of the EU.
"This is the victory of our people, we stayed until 06:00, we were interrupted many times, but we returned with a common European and national idea. The main demand of this protest was to abandon the bill, but our goal is for Georgia to become a member of the European Union, so we are starting a long-term campaign for the implementation of 12 points. We will regularly work with actions and in other ways so that the 12 points are strictly observed and Georgia receives the status of a candidate," said Tamar Jackeli, one of the organizers of the action.
