Armenia’s Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan received the ICRC delegation headed by Thierry Ribaud, head of the Armenian delegation.
The humanitarian situation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and difficulties related to the transportation of medicines were discussed.
“Although 100 citizens have been moved to Armenia with the support of the Red Cross to receive urgent medical care, the situation has not changed, and people's health needs remain unsolved due to the closed road,” the Minister said.
Plans to re-equip forensic-scientific institutions, strengthen capacities and possible support of ICRC in their accreditation were also discussed.
