Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi described the plan to plant 1 billion trees in 4 years throughout the country as one of the very good and valuable measures in the field of preserving natural resources, enriching forests and creating forest parks in order to preserve the environment and sustainable development in the country, Presidential press office reports .
Speaking on the sidelines of the Arbour Day ceremony, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi called the conservation of natural resources, the enrichment of forests and the creation of forest parks as three important actions in preserving the environment and sustainable development in the country and said, "According to this plan, every Iranian should plant three trees".
The President also described the measures taken in the National Botanical Garden and genetic modification and storage of various plant species as lasting and effective measures in increasing the production and improving the quality of agricultural products, and appreciated achieving the country's self-sufficiency in the seeds.
