Moscow and Beijing are currently facing problems in terms of access to advanced Western technologies. Under the current conditions, the Russian Federation and China are able to actively cooperate in the scientific and technological field, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said in an interview with China Central TV.
“The access of our countries to advanced Western technologies is difficult today. It seems that under these conditions, Russia and China could actively cooperate in this area,” Morgulov said.
He added that Moscow and Beijing are able to share knowledge and technology, as well as promote common developments.
The Ambassador also emphasized that the development of the PRC creates promising opportunities for investment cooperation between the Russian Federation and China.
Igor Morgulov also pointed to the opportunities created by the growth of the Chinese economy for interaction between Moscow and Beijing in science and technology.
He also stressed that the Northeast of China and the Russian Far East also have great opportunities for interaction. In particular, 23 advanced development territories and five free ports have been created in the Far East, ready to receive “friends from China” and interact with Beijing.
Also, according to the ambassador, the development of the PRC forms the conditions for new educational exchanges. For example, before the coronavirus pandemic, about 50 thousand students from China studied in the Russian Federation, and more than 20 thousand students from the Russian Federation studied in an Asian country.
