France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Spain and Poland have called on Israel to cancel plans to build new housing in settlements in the West Bank. This was stated in the statement of representatives of foreign ministries of six European countries.
The countries have expressed deep concern over the continuation of violence in the region. “We categorically reject all unilateral measures that undermine the coexistence of the two states. We call on the Israeli government to cancel the decision to approve the construction of more than 7,000 housing units in the West Bank,” the MFA representatives noted.
Earlier, Israeli authorities decided to legalize nine settlement positions on the West Bank in response to the terrorist attacks in East Jerusalem.
