In May, the Hungarian Parliament will hold a meeting on the ratification of Sweden and Finland's NATO membership documents. The President of Hungary, Katalin Novák, who visited the Czech Republic, announced this, TASS reports.
The president supports the NATO expansion process and calls on parliamentarians to quickly ratify the documents on admitting the two northern countries into the alliance.
“According to my information, Hungary will not be the last country to approve the inclusion of Sweden and Finland in NATO,” Novak said.
Turkey has not yet ratified the relevant documents. Ankara inhibits Sweden's application in particular.
