The United States occupies a key place not only in the political, but also in the economic life of Armenia. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan stated this today during a meeting with the newly appointed US Ambassador to Armenia, Kristina Kvien.
The government of Armenia informs that congratulating the ambassador on her appointment, the deputy PM expressed confidence that during the implementation of her diplomatic mission in Armenia, Armenian-American relations will continue to develop and expand.
The deputy premier presented to the ambassador the economic indicators of Armenia recorded last year, and noted that the United States occupies a key place not only in the political, but also in the economic life of Armenia. Also, Khachatryan emphasized the importance of the further development of the Armenian-American mutual investment environment and the promotion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Kvien, for her part, conveyed to the Armenian deputy PM the US commitment to always assist in Armenia's economic and political agenda.
Among other matters of mutual interest, the parties also discussed the current situation in Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) as a result of the Azerbaijani military aggression, and expressed concern about the humanitarian crisis that has arisen among the Armenians of Artsakh.
