The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran held a special meeting with his Russian counterpart during which they discussed the financing of the Rasht-Astara railway.
A decision was made to reach a final agreement within three months on the issue of railway financing and project implementation. It was emphasized that within 3 months, maximum 6 months, after the signing of the relevant contract, all studies should be completed, the Iranian side will allocate the area, and the construction works will begin at the end of 2023.
