The European Union is openly abusing the relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan, including by promoting a "mission of serious doubts from the legitimacy point of view" in the territory of Armenia Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during the press conference held after negotiations with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
According to him, the EU mission in Armenia raises questions in terms of its function, mandate, duration and the "added value that the mission can bring to the efforts aimed at normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia".
"We follow the principle of contributing to the solution of all arising problems, which would firstly be based on the principled agreements of the three leaders, and secondly, would ensure mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of the region. Not all players, away from the South Caucasus, are guided by the same principles. They want to work here not for something, but against someone. We see it, I hope the involved parties see it as well", Lavrov said.
