Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov informed during the press conference after the meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov that the parties discussed the negotiation process of unblocking transport and economic ties in the South Caucasus.
"We hope that in the near future the deputy prime ministers of the three countries, as co-chairmen of the respective tripartite group, will be able to reach certain agreements on the restoration of railway communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhijevan. We emphasized the need to intensify the work of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demarcation commission, which was created with the understanding that the Russian Federation would provide advisory support. We are also ready to support the signing of a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan", Lavrov said. He also added that the Azerbaijani side informed how they see the further continuation of this direction of settlement efforts.
