Moscow is ready to reach a special military operation through diplomatic means, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
“The main obstacle to a peaceful settlement in Ukraine is that Vladimir Zelensky stipulates the impossibility of negotiations with Vladimir Putin on September 30, 2022. Negotiations are also impossible, as Kyiv demands the removal of Russian troops from new Russian territories, Donbas, Crimea, Zaporozhe and Kherson,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Russia ready for talks on the peaceful implementation of the goal of its special military operation in Ukraine, no other options are acceptable, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said on Friday, TASS reports.
"We have repeatedly said that we are ready for talks on how the goal of our special military operation could be achieved by peaceful means. Naturally, schemes based on other scenarios will not be even looked at," he said.
"We have already said it more than once this week that its is the collective West that is not interested in stopping combat operations in Ukraine. As we already know for sure, the West did not let Kiev strike a peace deal in March-April 2022," he noted.
"Everything satisfies our Western colleagues now. The Russians and Ukrainians are killing each other, Western defense concerns earn lavish profits and have a testing ground for tests of new weapons. NATO is getting rid of old weapons and is gradually rearming."
Moreover, the United States is weakening its European rivals "who are demonstrating unprecedented servility and impotence," he pointed out.
