Head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, refused to consider China’s proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine as a peace plan. He stated this before a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, TASS reports.
“I don’t call it a peace plan, it’s a position document,” the diplomat shared his opinion.
On February 24, the anniversary of the start of the Special Military Operation (SVO), China presented a 12-point plan to achieve peace in Ukraine. In the document, Beijing insists on a cessation of hostilities, as well as the resumption of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. The PRC also called on the parties to the conflict to abandon the Cold War mentality.
State Duma Deputy Alexei Chepa, in an interview with Lenta.ru, called the PRC’s plan “very balanced.” He noted that the provisions set out in the document are similar to the requirements of Russia’s security guarantees before the start of the NWO. In Ukraine, in turn, they described China’s plan as unacceptable.
