Sixty tons of 100 tons of humanitarian aid provided by Hayastan All-Armenian Fund to besieged Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) are in Stepanakert, in the warehouse of the Ministry of Social Development and Migration. The humanitarian aid was transferred from Goris to Artsakh by the Russian peacekeeping troops.
At this stage, humanitarian aid is provided to the families of freedom fighters with 4 or more children, disabled, dead and missing, war veterans and indigent families who have applied to the ministry. Social workers go and conduct a needs assessment on site.
Reacting to the news spread on the Internet, the Minister of Social Development and Migration of Artsakh assures that the humanitarian aid that reached Stepanakert is not for sale. Armen Mangasaryan emphasizes that the food that citizens buy in shopping centers with coupons is supplied from the state reserve and has nothing to do with aid.
Artsakh Ministry of Social Development and Migration reports to all benefactors and organizations. Creating databases will eliminate cases of duplicate use of support.
The Government of Artsakh is also taking measures to transfer the other part of humanitarian aid to Stepanakert. As a result of the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, the process is progressing with difficulty.
