On 23rd of February, within the framework of Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan's visit to Syria, Haykak Arshamyan, the Executive Director of Hayastan All Armenian Fund, visited Damascus and Aleppo in order to provide urgent humanitarian support to the Syrian Armenian community.
Specifically, in cooperation with Armenia’s Embassy in Syria Hayastan All Armenian Fund donated $140,000 to Armenian educational institutions operating in Syria. The funds will be directed to provision of financial assistance to teachers and technical staff of these educational institutions (26 educational centers, 1163 individuals), as well as to the renovation of three Armenian educational institutions damaged as a result of the earthquake (Karen Jeppe Armenian College, Cilician College and the S.O. Khach Orphanage).
It should be noted that the USD 140,000 donated to the Armenian community of Syria was provided by the Fonds Arménien de France, the Vereniging Armeniëfonds Nederland and Armenien-Fonds Hayastan-Germany.
The Hayastan All Armenian Fund, being faithful to its pan-Armenian mission, always stands by the Armenian communities of Diaspora during emergencies.
