Georgia and the Georgian people stand with Turkey and its people, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said in Antakya, Turkey’s Hatay Province’s earthquake-hit city, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
The Prime Minister praised the Georgian rescuers who helped with the search and rescue efforts. Garibashvili expressed hope that the Turkish people would overcome their hardships and emerge stronger from their current troubles under the leadership of “strong and intelligent” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During their meeting, the Georgian Prime Minister and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed strategic cooperation issues, regional trends, and the Ukrainian conflict.
“We agreed that our strategy should be centered on achieving long-term peace in Ukraine, which will be a precondition for peaceful development. The primary priority of all global leaders should be peace in the world; we must not allow hostilities to continue,” he stated.
