President of Syria Bashar al-Assad, during receiving Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, voiced his gratitude for all what Armenia has sent of rescue teams and relief aids for the quake-affected people, stressing that the ties binding Syria with Armenians all over the world are historical, SANA news agency reports.
Assad considered that building good relationships and alliances among states with shared principles are important for overcoming the challenges and changes.
The guest minister conveyed the condolences of Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the Armenian people, asserting that Armenia can’t but stand by the Syrians and offer them assistance, recalling that his country still remember Syria’s stance beside his people along with offering them assistance when the devastating earthquake occurred in Armenia in 1988, as Syria was the homeland for thousands of Armenians who are still living in Syria.
Assad received Mirzoyan on the latter’s trip to the Arab Republic. Mirzoyan met with Fayssal al-Mikdad, Syrian Foreign Minister and handed a new relief aid of almost 37 tons to Syria from Armenia. After meetings in Damasucs Mirzzoyan headed to Aleppo.
