Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan arrived on Thursday at Damascus International Airport heading an official delegation to voice solidarity with Syria in facing the repercussions of the earthquake.
Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, received Minister Mirzoyan at Damascus International Airport, SANA news agency reports.
During his reception, Dr. Mikdad welcomed the Armenian minister noting that his visit comes at right time, and it is an expression of historical and firm relations between two countries which continuously are developing to serve the interests of the two peoples. “Minister Mirzoyan's visit comes on time and expresses the historic and enduring relations between the two countries, and we thank Armenia for its noble stand in solidarity with the Syrian people in these difficult circumstances”, Dr. Mikdad said and offered Syria’s thanks to Armenia for its noble stance of solidarity with the Syrian people at these difficult circumstances.
Earlier, an Armenian plane arrived at Damascus International Airport carrying aid relief for the earthquake-affected, accompanied by an official delegation headed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
The Armenian plane carries 26 tons and 600 kg of foodstuffs and relief assistance to the quake-affected in Syria and it will be evacuated at Aleppo International airport.
