During the joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the developments related to the security and stability of the region were at the core of their discussions.
“I have presented to my colleague the latest developments in the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. I would like to emphasize that Azerbaijan should abandon its fanatical approaches, bellicose rhetoric and ambitions for the sovereign territory of Armenia and enter the field of constructive discussions and honest negotiations.
In the context of regional security and stability, together with Mr. Asselborn, we also emphasized the importance of deploying the civilian monitoring mission of the EU, which started its work 2 days ago,” said Mirzoyan.
The minister noted that he thanked the EU for the decision to deploy a long-term observation mission.
“I am sure that it will have its role in strengthening stability and peace in the region,” said Mirzoyan.
