Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on February 27-28, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on February 22.
The visit is timed to coincide with the first anniversary of the proclamation of allied relations. Russia will hold meetings with the president and the foreign minister during the visit.
It is planned to consider a full range of issues of bilateral relations and current regional and international problems. Particular attention will be paid to the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021 and October 31, 2022.
These documents were and are the most important element in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and contribute to the transformation of the South Caucasus into a zone of peace, stability and prosperity.
On the second day of his visit to Baku, Minister Lavrov will address the plenary session of the Russian-Azerbaijani Expert Council.
