Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan discussed with Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Jean Asselborn the need for an immediate solution to the humanitarian crisis created in Nagorno-Karabakh due to the closure of the Lachin Corridor.
During today's press conference, Mirzoyan stated that he informed that the closing of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan is a gross violation not only of general humanitarian law, but also of the document signed by them on November 9.
“For two and a half months, along with the humanitarian crisis, Azerbaijan has also provoked an energy crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh. In the cold winter conditions, the authorities of Azerbaijan deliberately disrupted and continue to disrupt the supply of gas from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh, and the supply of electricity is blocked.
The goal of these actions of Azerbaijan is clear: to create such unbearable conditions that the people of Nagorno-Karabakh will leave their historical homeland,” he said.
According to Mirzoyan, the public statements of the high-ranking leadership of Azerbaijan prove this.
