Today at the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Ambassador Arman Khachatryan again raised the issue of illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan.
It was mentioned in the speech.
“The illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor in Nagorno-Karabakh has led to a humanitarian, environmental and energy crisis.
Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh contradicts all the principles and values for which the Council of Europe is fighting.
Through the blockade, Azerbaijan aims to subject the people of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing.
The status of the Lachin Corridor is clearly defined by the trilateral statement of the November 9, 2020. Talking about the creation of a checkpoint in the Lachin Corridor, Azerbaijan is once again manipulating the humanitarian crisis to achieve its own political goals.
Azerbaijan continues to obstruct the entry of international fact-finding missions to Nagorno-Karabakh, so on February 17-19, PACE co-rapporteurs visited only Armenia.”
