Moldovan President Maia Sandu, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, said that the Russian Federation is waging a hybrid war against the republic.
According to Sandu, Russia paid for the protest movement in Moldova against the current government in order to overthrow the Cabinet, hold parliamentary elections and bring a pro-Russian government to power.
“Russia is waging a hybrid war against Moldova, we have many examples. They paid for the protests to overthrow the legitimately elected government, now we have learned about a new plan that they are trying to bring people from outside the country to organize violent protests in order to organize negotiations for holding parliamentary elections,” said the President of Moldova.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry called Chisinau’s statements about Russia’s plan to destabilize Moldova unfounded.
