Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev answered the questions of Azerbaijani media after a trilateral meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“I have expressed my position. Many issues were discussed, including the signing of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty,” Aliyev said, adding that Baku has received Yerevan’s proposals and is working on counter-proposals.
According to him, the most important thing is that the peace treaty should be based on international norms and principles. Addressing the issues of border delimitation, Aliyev expressed the opinion that border checkpoints should be placed on both sides of the so-called ‘Zangezur Corridor’ as well as “on the border of Lachin region and Armenia.”
