Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received yesterday the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Armenia Edite Medne (with residence in Tbilisi).
Welcoming the guest, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated her on her appointment as ambassador and wished her success in her responsible mission.
Mher Grigoryan presented to the ambassador the situation created both in Nagorno-Karabakh and in the entire region as a result of the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan.
The interlocutors discussed the current situation of cooperation between the two countries and both emphasized the need for joint efforts to develop trade and economic relations.
In this context, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan emphasized the importance of the implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement.
Reference was also made to regional developments and prospects of Armenia-Latvia cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
