Belarus is ready to start producing attack aircraft with a little technological support from Russia, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, TASS reports.
"I was told by the cabinet we are ready to start production of aircraft that has proved itself well in Ukraine: the attack aircraft, a workhorse. We are ready for production in Belarus with a little technological support from the Russian Federation," he said.
The Belarusian president noted the positive results of the implementation of import-substitution projects in the field of aircraft construction.
"You once raised the issue of cooperation in the field of aircraft construction. So I have to report to you that the Belarusians are making up to 1,000 components for the MS-21 and Sukhoi Superjet," Lukashenko said.
He also highly appreciated the Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the field of security and defense, noting the 100% implementation of the relevant agreements by Minsk.
"Everything that we agreed on recently, about three months ago, in terms of defense and security, was 100% fulfilled by the Belarusian side last year. One hundred percent and even more has been done," Lukashenko said. "Later I will tell you what is being done in this regard."
