Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė on the occasion of the national holiday, the Prime Minister’s press office reports. The message states:
"Your Excellency,
I heartily congratulate you and the friendly people of Lithuania on the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Lithuania, the Independence Restoration Day. Lithuania, that declared independence and sovereignty 105 years ago, facing many challenges on the state accomplishment path, has today found its rightful place among the democratic countries of the world.
Armenia highly values friendly relations with Lithuania, which are based on historical, educational and cultural relations and democratic values, welcoming cooperation with Lithuania aimed at implementing democratic reforms and improving governance in Armenia.
I would like to note with satisfaction the high level of political dialogue between the two countries and the developing mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and economic spheres. This is evidenced by the results of the Armenian-Lithuanian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and scientific-technical cooperation held in Vilnius last October and the prospects of cooperation in primary fields.
We attach importance to the close cooperation with Lithuania also in the platforms of international structures for withstanding geopolitical crisis manifestations and regional challenges, valuing the more inclusive role of Lithuania as a democratic country and an enthusiastic defender of human rights in establishing peace and strengthening democratic values in the South Caucasus region”.
