In a telephone conversation on February 15, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried discussed the situation in the region and prospects for negotiations of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This is reported by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov stated that in accordance with the trilateral statement “Azerbaijan guarantees the safety of citizens, vehicles and cargo on the Lachin road… and claims about the tense humanitarian situation in the region have no basis in fact”.
