Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Armenia extended humanitarian help and showed solidarity and cooperation at the difficult time for Turkey.
“Unfortunately Armenia is located in a seismic zone. We all remember the devastating Spitak earthquake of 1988, when Turkey had also sent aid to Armenia. Years later, aid reached Turkey through the same customs point. I think we should continue this process," Çavuşoğlu said.
He noted that this example will contribute to the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
“The settlement of Armenia's relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan should help establish stability in the South Caucasus,” he said.
Çavuşoğlu said that during the meeting with Ararat Mirzoyan, the ongoing work on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan was also discussed.
“With their sincere steps, our three countries can bring stability and peace to the region,” he said.
