The EU states are ready to help Turkey and Syria after the earthquake, as a result of which hundreds of people were killed and injured in those countries, stated the Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström, who chairs the EU Council.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani also announced that his country is ready to send civil defense specialists to Turkey to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake.
Tajani also expressed his support for the Syrian people, who after many years of war “are receiving another heavy blow”.
According to the latest information received from Turkey, after the earthquake, the airports of Kahramanmaraş (Marash) and Gaziantep (Aintap) have stopped serving civil flights, but the main Turkish airports in Ankara, Antalya and Istanbul continue to operate.
