The Turkish government rejected a proposal by Elon Musk to send Starlink network terminals to the country for earthquake relief, Bloomberg reports.
According to a senior Turkish official, the government is grateful for such a proposal, but the country has enough equipment to ensure satellite communications.
Network Starlink is designed to provide Internet access through the deployment of a large number of devices weighing 260 kilograms.
According to SpaceX, it will be able to provide broadband Internet access at 1 gigabit per second, which meets the 5G standard. Since May 2019, SpaceX has put more than 3,200 Starlink satellites into orbit.
