The fact that hearings are taking place at the UN International Court of Justice is already a positive process, referring to the hearings between Armenia vs. Azerbaijan in The Hague, noted the representative of prisoners' interests at the European Court, human rights defender Artak Zeynalyan.
He also highlighted The Hague Court's decision to apply an emergency measure against Azerbaijan on December 7, 2021, which Azerbaijan has not yet implemented.
The representative of Armenia in international legal matters submitted notifications and factual basis to the UN Court of Justice.
Artak Zeinalyan (representative of prisoners' interests at the ECHR, human rights defender) - Azerbaijan is obliged to translate the judgment into Azerbaijani, publish it in its legal bulletins, inform the public in an operative and accessible way, this judicial act should be included in educational and training programs, which it has not done.
There was also a demand related to the so-called ‘Park of Fame’, and before the judicial act was passed, Azerbaijan had already removed the mannequins from there, which was an expression of hatred, discrimination, and racism towards Armenians by nationality. On that basis, it was requested to consider the application in the Hague court to be inadmissible. In essence, the proceedings have had their beneficial effect.
Today the hearings in the 'Armenia vs. Azerbaijan' case were held at the International Court of Justice of the United Nations.
