In a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Joe Biden offered to provide necessary assistance in connection with the terrorist attack near the synagogue in East Jerusalem, the White House stated in the written statement.
"President Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu to discuss the horrific terror attack tonight in Jerusalem, which claimed at least seven innocent Israeli lives. The President made clear that this was an attack against the civilized world. He offered all appropriate means of support to the Government and People of Israel over the coming days. The President stressed the iron-clad U.S. commitment to Israel’s security, and agreed that his team would remain in constant touch with their Israeli counterparts," the White House said.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned the terrorist attack near the Jerusalem synagogue.
The Israeli police announced that the person who carried out the terrorist attack in the synagogue is a resident of East Jerusalem. The number of victims as a result of terrorism reached 8.
