The Georgian Foreign Ministry summoned Ukrainian Charge d'Affaires Andrei Kasyanov on the carpet to explain his statement.
"He was summoned to the ministry to get an explanation of the statement he made. Other issues of bilateral relations will not be discussed with him at this meeting," the ministry said.
For his part, Kasyanov explained to reporters that he was traveling to the Foreign Ministry of Georgia at an invitation, and the meeting would discuss a wide range of issues relating to bilateral relations between Georgia and Ukraine.
The day before, in an interview with "European truth," the Ukrainian diplomat made some scandalous statements regarding Tbilisi. In particular, he did not rule out evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from the country in case of resumption of direct flights between Russia and Georgia.
