Quran burner Rasmus Paludan received permission from Stockholm police to hold a public gathering near the Turkish embassy. According to the application, he’ll once again burn a copy of Islam's holy book.
Paludan arrived with a police escort at 13h00. Interest in his protest was relatively low. In addition to police officers and journalists, there were around 50 passers-by who stopped.
A few kilometers away, a long-planned demonstration march was also held in protest against Erdogan and the Swedish NATO accession. It was organized by the Kurdish Democratic Society Center.
Among the participants in the march were also the Rojava Committees, who last week hung an effigy representing Erdogan outside the City Hall in Stockholm. The incident drew Turkey's anger and created debate in Sweden.
