Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday said Georgia was “truly” a “neutral and impartial mediator” between Azerbaijan and Armenia, at a panel discussion Eurasia's Middle Corridor: From Pathway to Highway within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, agenda.ge reports.
PM Garibashvili hopes Armenia and Azerbaijan will soon return to the “path of dialogue.”
During the Cold War there was a phrase - Trust, but verify; this trust is relevant but a new expression has been added - Don’t trust, but cooperate”, the Head of the Government noted.
The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s initiative to hold a trilateral meeting is in Georgia’s interests, as the South Caucasus region belongs to these three countries [Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan] and they can transform it into the region of “opportunities for peace and prosperity,” Garibashvili stressed.
