The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a statement expressing regret regarding the statement of the President of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe about the one-month blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan also said that it “does not understand such attitude towards the peaceful demonstrations on Lachin road”, stated that the holding of protests is the right of Azerbaijani citizens, and it should be understood with respect.
Earlier, the President of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Iceland's Foreign Minister Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir made a statement about the Lachin Corridor. She called for the immediate restoration of freedom of movement through the Lachin Corridor.
