Last year, more electricity was exported from Armenia to Georgia than in the previous 10 years together. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this today during the Parliament-Government question-and-answer session.
“In 2019, the Prime Minister of Georgia visited Armenia, during the briefing after our meeting, we announced that we set a goal to increase the trade turnover to $1 billion in the next few years. Now we are definitely close or crossed.
Now we are more focused on the growth of 2023 figures. Very warm political, economic and human relations have been established. It is necessary to ensure that these relations become institutionalized in a strategic sense,” said Pashinyan.
Continuing the topic of Armenian-Georgian relations, Pashinyan noted that the topic of improving the quality of teaching Georgian in Armenia and Armenian in Georgia is now being discussed.
In his speech, the Prime Minister also reminded that the Government approved the proposal to sign the agreement ‘between Armenia and Georgia on mutual visa-free travel for citizens of both states’.
