Due to the blocking by Azerbaijan of the only road linking Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia, five patients from the Republican Medical Centre of the Republic of Artsakh with the following diagnoses: post-renal transplant status, small left kidney, recurrent disease, pregnancy VII, 19-20 weeks, high risk of 21, 18, 13 chromosome trisomies in the fetus, left breast cancer, left lung cancer, and condition after landmine injury, postoperative anophthalmos, integrated implant infection, rejection, were transferred today to various specialized medical centers of Armenia with the mediation and support of the ICRC, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh reports.
Due to the ongoing blockade by Azerbaijan, scheduled surgeries continue to be suspended in the medical facilities of the Republic of Artsakh.
12 children remain in the neonatal and intensive care units of the Arevik medical centre.
11 patients remain in the intensive care unit of the Republican Medical Centre, 5 of them in critical condition. Doctors are doing their best to stabilize the condition of the patients.
Until today, a total of 24 patients were transferred from Artsakh to Armenia with the mediation and support of the ICRC.
