Switzerland has not allowed its arms to be supplied to Ukraine, the 20 Minuten newspaper reports.
“Spain wanted to support Ukraine with the supply of military equipment, but this requires the consent of the producing country, Switzerland. It did not give such consent,” the paper said.
According to the publication, Zurich cited its neutral status and the law on military materials.
In addition, the Swiss Economics Department said that it had not received any official requests from Spain.
“So far it (the department. – Ed. note) has not received any requests through the official channel for Spain to transfer Swiss-made military materials to Ukraine,” the newspaper quoted department spokesman Fabian Mayenfisch as saying.
