On January 12, Foreign Minister of Armenia had a phone conversation with Jean Asselborn, the Foreign Minister of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Armenian Ministry Press office reports.
Ararat Mirzoyan drew the attention of his counterpart to the humanitarian crisis resulting from Azerbaijan's blockade of the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia and the rest of the world - the Lachin Corridor on false environmental grounds. Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that Azerbaijan grossly violates the provisions of the statement of November 9, 2020 and international humanitarian law.
Minister Mirzoyan underlined that the actions of the Azerbaijani side pursue the goal of subjecting the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing, in this context highlighting the importance of clear calls and targeted steps of the international community.
During the phone conversation, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Luxembourg touched upon the perspectives of the development of both bilateral and Armenia-EU relations.
