On January 11, Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of Czechia to Armenia Petr Piruncik on the occasion of handing over the copies of his credentials.
The Deputy Minister congratulated Mr. Piruncik on his appointment, wishing him a fruitful realization of his mission. He also expressed his belief that the Ambassador will contribute to further strengthening and deepening of relations between Armenia and Czechia.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including cooperation within the EU. The parties expressed their readiness to exert all efforts to fully realize the existing potential of bilateral cooperation and highlighted the importance of mutual visits.
Paruyr Hovhannisyan presented the consequences of Azerbaijan's blockade of movement through the Lachin Corridor, stressing that Artsakh is facing the threat of a humanitarian crisis. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the actions of Azerbaijani leadership, warmongering rhetoric and maximalist approach seriously endanger the possibility of achieving peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
