The Ministry of Defense is doing everything on a daily basis to have a combat-ready army, the Deputy Minister of Defense announced. Arman Sargsyan also referred to the border situation and the capabilities of the Armenian army.
Arman Sargsyan (Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia) - The Ministry of Defense can say that it is doing everything so that in the event of possible aggression, a possible confrontation takes place and we can solve problems, but even today there is an increase in tension in the region, with a growing trend. Recently we haven't had a single day when the tension was not maintained.
The Deputy Defense Minister also spoke about the Azerbaijani aggression of September 13 and its consequences, noted that the bodies of 224 dead servicemen were buried, and the location of 3 servicemen is still unknown.
Arman Sargsyan - Everything is being done, even through negotiations with the Azerbaijani side, to provide an opportunity to bring out the bodies of our fallen servicemen, starting with the terrain, risks, dangers. We have no barriers to responding immediately whenever possible. Work is underway to create a compromise to quickly remove the body from the area.
The families of the 3 missing persons still do not receive money from the Servicemen's Insurance Fund. The deputy minister responded to this assertion of the journalists by presenting the process.
Arman Sargsyan - The package of documents necessary to become a beneficiary of the Servicemen's Fund is submitted to the Servicemen's Social Protection Department, from where it is sent to the fund. In the case of missing persons, there must be a court ruling on missing persons. In order to speed up the process, the State has already made a change in the legal acts, so that the court will issue that decision in an accelerated mode.
Referring to the motivations for the development of the project to involve women in military service, Arman Sargsyan singled out the activity of women in combat shooting courses. The deputy minister reminded that the process will be carried out entirely on the principle of volunteering.
