IRAN PARLIAMENT SPEAKER LEFT FOR TURKEY
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament left for Turkey to participate in the 13th session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly. Mohammad Ghalibaf informed that he will meet the partners of Turkey and Azerbaijan within the framework of the session. He expressed his belief that stability in the South Caucasus depends on the dynamics of cooperation between the countries of the region.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament stressed that Tehran is against any change in geopolitics and borders in the region.
PRESIDENT OF IRAN TO VISIT TURKEY
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani announced that President Ebrahim Raisi will visit Turkey and Syria. Details about the dates of the planned visits have not yet been announced. Raisi will go to Turkey at the invitation of Recep Erdogan. The Turkish President's spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, informed that Raisi was supposed to visit Turkey earlier, but the visit was postponed due to a number of reasons.
Nasser Kanaani also referred to Iran-Azerbaijan cooperation, noted that the relations between the two countries are maintained despite some misunderstandings. The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry expressed his belief that the existing problems should be solved through diplomacy and negotiations.
"The Azerbaijani side has taken positive steps in that direction. Iran will also continue to make appropriate efforts," Kanaani emphasized.
FIERCE BATTLES ARE TAKING PLACE IN DONETSK: Zelensky
The President of Ukraine informed that fierce battles are currently taking place in Donetsk, particularly near Bakhmut and Soledar. "It's a very difficult situation, but both cities are holding on. Most of Bakhmut and Soledar are destroyed," added Volodymyr Zelensky. According to him, the Ukrainian side is doing its best to strengthen the defense; additional forces are moved to the indicated directions.
RUSSIA AND BELARUS TO HOLD EXERCISES
The armed forces of Russia and Belarus will conduct tactical flight exercises from January 16 to February 1. According to the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, aviation units of the Russian space forces are already in Belarus. The exercises will be held at the airfields and military units of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
