Poland intends to convince its partners among the NATO countries, including Germany and France, of the need to radically weaken Russia and prevent the establishment of peace in Ukraine on Moscow's terms.
“We are lobbying to weaken Russia... Our goal is to contain Russia once and for all.
We can't make a cheap compromise.
A truce on Russia's terms will only lead to a pause in hostilities,” Welt reports, citing diplomatic sources in the Polish Foreign Ministry.
The interlocutor of the publication noted that Moscow is using this pause in order to gather strength again, and this is not in the interests of Warsaw.
The New York Times columnist Steven Erlanger previously opined that the conflict between Germany and Poland is deepening as the crisis in Ukraine continues, undermining cohesion and solidarity in NATO and the European Union.
