The International Society for Human Rights (Internationale Gesellschaft für Menschenrechte (IGFM)) has warned about the humanitarian catastrophe created for 120,000 people in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
The article published by the company mentions that the Azerbaijanis blocking the Lachin Corridor call themselves independent eco-activists, but this is only an excuse to blockade Artsakh. “Until now, Azerbaijan did not stand out for its interest in environmental protection.”
It is noted that since December 12, Azerbaijanis have blocked the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia. Food and medicine cannot be delivered.
The company called on the authorities of Azerbaijan to lift the blockade of Artsakh, and the German government to adopt a clear position towards Azerbaijan.
“120 thousand people were affected by the blockade of the region. The corridor is closed to ambulances, hospitals do not receive necessary medicines, grocery stores are empty, it is almost impossible to get baby food. More than 1,000 residents, including 270 minors, cannot return home,” the publication reads.
