Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has not ruled out changing the date of the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for June 18 in the country, TASS reports.
“Everything that is discussed in society is on our agenda one way or another,” Erdogan said.
Omer Çelik, the spokesman of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party, told reporters on January 2 that the date of the elections may be moved. According to him, the party headed by Erdogan is considering different options.
The possible dates of the elections are April 30, May 7 or 14.
The ruling "People's Alliance", which includes the "Nationalist Movement" party along with the Justice and Development Party, announced earlier that the current president of Turkey will be their only candidate. The opposition has not named its candidate for the presidential elections yet.
