During the briefing, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, referred to possible pressures regarding Armenia's accession to the "Union State" (Russia-Belarus).
According to the diplomat, such claims do not correspond to reality and no one can present such facts.
Zakharova noted that the thesis that there is pressure on Yerevan to provide an extraterritorial corridor to Azerbaijan through the territory of Armenia is also false.
"According to the statement of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on January 11, within the trilateral working group for unblocking all economic and transportation means in the region, different ways of opening the communications are discussed. Among them are the issues related to the restoration of traffic on the railway in the south of Armenia. One of the principles of that work, which neither Yerevan nor Baku dispute, is that the sovereignty over the routes belongs to the party whose territory they pass," concluded Zakharova.
